A woman is dead and a 9-year-old girl in the hospital after an early morning crash in Ormond Beach, state troopers say.

Troopers say it happened around 7:45 a.m. on I-95 not far from the exit for U.S. 1.

Troopers say a witness told them the driver of a 2007 Toyota Scion was driving, when they switched lanes, then overcorrected to the right.

That’s when, Florida Highway Patrol says, the car ran off the road and rolled over near some woods.

A 38-year-old Melbourne woman, identified as the driver, died at the hospital, according to FHP, and a 9-year-old girl was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Troopers say there is no roadblock in the area, and the accident is under investigation.
