Winnie the Pooh is packing up for the holidays, at least on party nights. Disney says Pooh and friends will greet guests at Storybook Circus during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. That’s a move away from their usual Fantasyland home. For one of Magic Kingdom’s most popular character stops, the new spot could mean an easier wait experience.

Winnie the Pooh Meet and Greet Moves to Storybook Circus for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

IN THIS ARTICLE:

  • Pooh and friends will greet guests at Storybook Circus on party nights from November 8th through December 22nd.
  • The move gives one of Magic Kingdom’s longest character lines more space on busy party nights.
  • Daytime greetings stay at The Thotful Spot, and Disney hasn’t shared the exact party location yet.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns to Magic Kingdom on November 8th. This year, one of its most popular character stops has a new location. Winnie the Pooh and friends will greet party guests at Storybook Circus from opening night through the final party on December 22nd.

A New Party Home for Pooh and Friends

On a regular day, Pooh and Tigger meet guests at The Thotful Spot. It sits next to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in Fantasyland. The meet-and-greet returned to Magic Kingdom in 2022 after more than two years away, and the line has stayed long during event nights ever since. Disney still lists daytime greeting times at The Thotful Spot, so the move appears to cover party hours only.

Disney World

Disney hasn’t said where in Storybook Circus the characters will greet or which friends will join Pooh. The land already turns into Santa’s Christmas Carnival during the party, as we covered when Disney announced the 2026 party details. Santa greets guests there near Dumbo the Flying Elephant and The Barnstormer. Adding Pooh would put two of the party’s most popular character stops in the same corner of Fantasyland.

Our guess is that Pooh and friends would take over a space within Pete’s Silly Sideshow. We’ll share more details when they become available.

Why the Move Makes Sense

The Thotful Spot sits right along a busy Fantasyland walkway, across from Mad Tea Party. Its queue doesn’t have much room to grow, so a long line quickly crowds the path for everyone else. That matters even more on party nights. Mad Tea Party picks up a holiday overlay and draws its own crowd.

Storybook Circus has more room and is off the main walkway. That should give Disney room to stretch out a long queue. Party demand makes that space more valuable this year. Disney says 13 of the season’s 25 party nights had sold out as of late October, including opening night and all of Thanksgiving week.

Sold-out nights mean packed parks, so a roomier queue is good news for families hoping for a holiday photo with Pooh. If he’s on your must-do list, check the My Disney Experience app on party night for times and the exact spot.
