Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has a busy few years ahead. Guest rooms in the main hotel will get a refurbishment in summer 2027, Disney says. The resort’s main pool follows in early 2028, after the exterior work that has been underway since August 2024 wraps up later this year. Here’s the latest.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Refurbishment Schedule Through 2028

Wilderness Lodge has been in some stage of refurbishment for more than two years. Now Disney has laid out what comes next for both the deluxe hotel and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, the Disney Vacation Club side of the resort. The new dates reach into 2028.
Exterior Work Still Set to Finish in Late 2026
First up is the exterior refurbishment, which began on August 5th, 2024. Disney says that work will continue through late 2026. That matches the late 2026 end date Disney posted last November, and it also lines up with a permit we covered in July 2024 that listed a December 2026 expiration date.
If Disney holds to that timeline, the exterior work has less than two months to go. Until then, Disney’s notice keeps the same warning for current guests: “Guests may experience obstructed views in some areas and may see or hear construction during daytime hours.”
Hotel Rooms and Copper Creek Springs Pool Come Next
The bigger news for future stays is what follows. From July 2027 through September 2027, guest rooms at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo refurbishment. This seems like it’ll be a soft goods refurbishment, which usually includes a lighter touch and a smaller refurbishment window. Copper Creek’s villas and cabins already had their own refurbishment from mid-May through September 2025.
After that comes Copper Creek Springs Pool, the resort’s main pool and home to its waterslide. Disney plans to refurbish it from January 2028 through Spring 2028. Guests visiting in early 2028 still have the resort’s second pool, Boulder Ridge Cove.
Once the pool work wraps up, Wilderness Lodge will have refreshed exteriors, villas, hotel rooms and its main pool in under four years.
