Rain chances remain elevated today as we will once again watch the battle of the sea breezes. Drier and breezy conditions return for the upcoming week.

Sunday

Our Sunday forecast will be a near carbon copy of Saturday, with rain coverage being slightly less in the afternoon. We will wake up dry with a mix of sun and clouds. This trend will continue through noon. Around lunchtime, scattered storms will begin developing along the east and west coast sea breezes, primarily near the 75 and 95 corridors. These two sea breezes meet up over I-4 by 3pm, allowing for a blow-up of showers and storms across Central Florida for the second half of the afternoon and into early evening. These storms will linger until 9pm and fizzle. Highs will hit the low 90s with “feels like” temperatures around 100ºF before cooling storms move in.

Next Week

A building ridge of high pressure over the Southeast in the upper levels of the atmosphere will help to drag drier air into Central Florida by mid-week, allowing for rain chances to drop. At the same time, a developing upper level low to our east will help to increase wind speeds. Breezy conditions will move into Central Florida by mid-week with gusts around 20-25mph at times.
