Rain chances remain high as an unsettled pattern remains over Florida, giving our sea breeze extra juice to develop numerous soaking thunderstorms Sunday afternoon.

Thanks to a stalled frontal boundary to our north and a mid level low that is spinning over the Gulf, our atmosphere has ample moisture and instability to supercharge our afternoon sea breeze pattern once again Sunday afternoon. We will start off the day mostly dry with a mix of sun and clouds with a few isolated showers near the east coast. Our sea breeze will start developing showers and storms around I-95 around lunchtime. Storms will become stronger and more widespread across Central Florida by mid-afternoon. Some storms may carry the risk of wind gusts up to 50mph, frequent lightning, and the possibility of localized flooding. These storms will begin to fade after 8pm with drier conditions by 10-11pm. Highs will hit the upper 80s to low 90s before the storms roll in.

Next Week

With a similar pattern continuing over Florida as we move into next week, high moisture and instability continues to charge our sea breeze each afternoon for much of the week to come. Rain chances remain high through mid-week with rain chances gradually reverting back to a more “typical” pattern by the end of the upcoming week and into the following weekend. Highs will climb into the low 90s each afternoon.
