Rain chances remain high through the forecast period as high moisture levels remain over Central Florida as a front stalls over the area.
Tonight
Scattered showers moving from west to east will persist early Sunday evening. Expect showers around through 9-10pm this evening. Drier conditions will settle in across Central Florida by midnight. We will remain mostly dry through Monday morning. Lows will remain above average, dropping down into the mid-upper 70s.
Monday
Rain coverage will increase Monday as deeper moisture ahead of the aforementioned cold front. We will start our Monday off dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Dry conditions will hold over through early afternoon. By around 2pm, scattered storms will begin to develop around and just east of I-75. The general flow will push these storms to the east. Expect showers and storms around the I-4 and 95 corridors for the evening drive and lingering into the early evening. Highs will hit the low 90s before cooling rain settles in.
Week Ahead
Rain chances continue to rise through Wednesday as the cold front settles in over Central Florida and stalls, dumping heavy rainfall across the area. This front will briefly slide southward on Thursday, giving us one day of lower rain chances. Unfortunately, it retrogrades northward on Friday and leaves moisture in its wake into the weekend for elevated rain chances to continue through Sunday. Area-wide expect around 3-5″ of rainfall through Friday. Some areas, especially Flagler and Volusia counties, may receive 5-8″ of rainfall when all is said and done. This will lead to some flooding concerns, especially for the second half of the week after the ground is already very saturated which will lead to poor drainage.
