Everyone knows the Disney Parks become extra magical once the sun sets, so we headed to Hollywood Studios to capture some nighttime shots of the new Animation Courtyard.
Animation Courtyard Now Fully Lit at Night
While officially set to open on September 14, The Magic of Disney Animation actually soft-opened on Friday, September 11. The Animation Courtyard outside was also fully illuminated at night for the first time.
We visited and captured some shots of the new outdoor space, all lit up on a drizzly summer Saturday night.
Twinkling lights in the trees lead you through the courtyard to The Magic of Disney Animation.
Warm, golden light bathes the walkways and sidewalks and illuminates the large movie posters on the buildings.
We captured the Sorcerer’s Hat both during and after the rain.
In addition to the white spotlights and fairy lights, there are blue, red, and pink lights trained on the character statues at the entrance, welcoming guests to the Animation Studios’ “Open House.”
We did not encounter any characters in the Animation Courtyard during this nighttime shoot. The many animal statues throughout the space were also unfortunately too dark to photograph at night.
Animation Courtyard features roaming character encounters during the day, including potentially rare encounters.
