An Orlando man is facing charges after he threatened a stranger at a bus stop and demanded his belongings, police said.

The incident happened just before 2 p.m. Monday in the 3400 block of Conroy Road.

According to an arrest affidavit, the victim was sitting at a bus stop when a group of four men approached and sat next to him.

“Run your pockets,” one of the men said, according to the affidavit. The victim said he then felt the muzzle of a gun pressed against the back of his head. “You heard what he said,” the man holding the firearm reportedly told him.

The victim asked whether the man was willing to kill him over candy and keys. The men told him to walk away. As he did, the victim looked back and saw the man he believed had the gun — later identified as Nicholas Javonn Sigma, 44 — tuck a firearm into his waistband alongside a clear vodka bottle. The victim then saw the group board LYNX Bus 57 and head southbound on John Young Parkway.

Officers located the bus and conducted a felony traffic stop. All passengers complied with commands except Sigma. He looked at officers giving commands, turned the other way, and began to walk off. Officers took him into custody after he refused multiple commands, the affidavit states.

The victim later identified Sigma — who was still wearing the gray tank top and blue jeans described — as the man who threatened him. A clear vodka bottle was found in Sigma’s pants, but no firearm was recovered.

Sigma was charged with attempted robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm, and resisting an officer without violence. He was booked into Orange County Jail.
