An Ocala man is facing a second-degree murder charge after two of his roommates were shot and killed Wednesday, according to the Ocala Police Department.

In a release, police said they responded to the 1000 block of SE 8th Street after receiving a report about the shooting.

Upon arrival, police found the two men with gunshot wounds; one died at the scene inside a nearby home, and the other was taken to the hospital, where he died, officials explained.

Ocala Police Detective Bessette arrested Mark Robinson, 69, in connection with the double homicide. Robinson’s two roommates — men aged 78 and 69 — were identified as the victims.

Police said the incident is isolated and there is no danger to the public.

Robinson was taken into custody and charged with two counts of second-degree murder. The case remains under investigation, and additional details are expected to be released.
