A Florida lawsuit accuses comedian Scott Thompson, better known as Carrot Top, of sexual misconduct involving a young man.

The lawsuit was filed in Broward County Circuit Court by Brian Evans.

In a declaration filed Sept. 14, Zachary Defazio says he met Thompson in 2021, when Defazio was 19, after Thompson contacted him through Grindr.

Defazio says Thompson arranged to meet him at a bar in Winter Park. He alleges Thompson later provided him alcohol at bars, homes and on boats before engaging in sexual conduct with him when he was too intoxicated to consent.

Defazio also claims Thompson used his celebrity status, age and wealth to gain his trust. He says the alleged conduct occurred in October 2021 at Thompson’s home and on his boat.

A 2025 legal demand from Defazio’s attorneys accused Thompson of sexual exploitation, emotional distress and furnishing alcohol to a person under 21. The letter sought a confidential settlement of $7.5 million.

The allegations have not been proven in court. It was not immediately clear whether Thompson or his attorneys have filed a response to the claims.

Thompson, who is from Rockledge and resides in Central Florida, is also a longtime Las Vegas performer. He is known for his prop comedy and signature red hair.

The Florida filing comes amid reports of an apparent suicide attempt involving Thompson in Las Vegas.

TMZ reported Friday that Thompson was hospitalized after the reported attempt and that his Friday night performance was canceled.

His representative told TMZ, “Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy.”
