Get out and enjoy the day! Central Florida gets a brief break from the humidity and storms, but don’t put the rain gear away just yet. Showers and storms return for the weekend, so make the most of the drier weather today!

Thursday & Friday

It will be another breezy few days with northeast winds increasing to 15 to 20 mph this afternoon, with gusts around 25 to 30 mph.

Drier air moving in will help cut back on rain, with 20% to 30% rain chances across much of the area.

Temperatures will also be a little more comfortable, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Some areas near and northwest of I-4 could feel less humid as dew points drop into the upper 60s.

At the beaches, conditions will remain rough and dangerous. A high risk of life-threatening rip currents continues, along with rough surf and hazardous boating conditions.

Weekend

The weather pattern changes heading into the weekend as moisture increases and an upper-level low moves across Florida.

That will lead to scattered to numerous showers and storms each day, with rain chances climbing to 70-80%.

A few stronger storms will be possible each day, with frequent lightning, 40 to 50 mph wind gusts and locally heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches. That could lead to some minor flooding, especially where heavy rain repeats.

Temperatures remain seasonable, with highs in the upper 80s and lows in the 70s.
