Downtown Orlando is already known to have a few murals, but this week, it’s set to burst with art and color, and you can catch the artists in action.
The free Art Festival kicks off Sept. 17 and then continues with the Orlando Mural Festival Art Party on Sept. 19.
For the third year in a row, this event will bring together around 15 artists to create large-scale murals throughout the heart of the city.
The event is from the Downtown Arts District and CityArts, presented by the Downtown Development Board.
Everything kicks off on Thursday from 6 – 9 p.m. at CityArts, with a special exhibition in the upstairs Signature Gallery. It will have studio work from muralists who have participated in the Orlando Mural Festival during the past two years. The exhibit showcases the participating artists beyond their work with large-scale murals.
Then on Saturday, from 2 – 10 p.m., the Orlando Mural Festival Art Party will take place at CityArts, the Fordify the Arts Courtyard, and Thornton Park Market on Central Boulevard.
The free art party will have live panel muralists and artists creating throughout the day, art vendors, live music, food vendors and more.

An additional 10 pop-up murals will be displayed during the Art Party and Thornton Park Market.
The Orlando Mural Festival first launched in 2024. Last year, it attracted more than 8,000 visitors.
