A brand new experience is set to make its way to Orlando’s ICON Park, and this one is one-of-a-kind.

Build-A-Bear announced it will open a new three-story workshop at ICON in November, featuring exclusive attractions and customization experiences not available at any other location.

Leaders said the Orlando store is the brand’s most ambitious concept to date. It will expand on the traditional Build-A-Bear experience with new interactive elements, including a premium design studio, a hands-on dessert shop, and expanded personalization options.

The ICON Park location will have the first-ever Build-A-Bear Design Studio.

You have to sign up for an appointment, which will then allow you to work one-on-one with a Design Consultant to create a fully customized furry friend.

Guests will be able to choose from an exclusive selection of fabrics, textures, and materials, along with details such as animal style, fur type, fur color, eye color, paw design, and more.

Interactive digital tools will let guests preview and refine their creation before it is made. Once the design is finalized, a Build-A-Bear seamstress will personally create the custom plush.

The experience will also include Build-A-Bear’s signature Heart Ceremony, a special birth certificate, and an exclusive Design Studio Cub Condo.

The new Workshop will also include the Build-A-Bear Bakeshop, an interactive dessert experience where guests can decorate their own cupcakes and cookies.

Rather than operating as a traditional café, the Bakeshop will focus on hands-on creativity, giving visitors the chance to frost and decorate treats during their visit.

Another exclusive feature coming to the ICON Park store is the “Personalize Me” station.

At the station, guests will be able to customize clothing for their furry friends with embroidered names, initials, numbers, patches, and screen prints. Select plush animals will also be eligible for ear embroidery.

Build-A-Bear says the new station is designed to give guests more ways to make each furry friend feel personal and one-of-a-kind and the location at ICON Park is intended to give families and visitors a new place to create memories together while expanding the brand’s traditional make-your-own plush experience.

“For nearly 30 years, Build-A-Bear has created memorable make-your-own experiences centered on connection, imagination and heart,” Build-A-Bear Workshop CEO Chris Hurt said. “Our ICON Park Workshop represents our most ambitious experience yet, a place where families can step into the world of Build-A-Bear, share meaningful moments together and create memories that last well beyond their visit.”

The company partnered with design firm Chute Gerdeman to bring the new concept to life. The firm is known for creating immersive retail spaces, including the FAO Schwarz flagship in New York, where Build-A-Bear operates a shop-in-shop.

Build-A-Bear says additional features and grand opening details for the ICON Park location will be announced in the coming weeks.
