A day after Walt Disney Imagineering walked fans through the new show sets at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, we headed out to EPCOT to see them for ourselves. Our coverage had never called out three of the pieces Imagineering showed off. We rode through the France Pavilion attraction this morning to get photos and a full ride-through video of each one. Here’s the latest.
New(ish) Rat Trap, Order Tickets & Bumper Bar at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

IN THIS ARTICLE:
- We’re taking a closer look at three props we hadn’t called out before
- Two of them sit in the kitchen, and one hides a screen seam under the dining cart
- Our full ride-through video shows each prop as guests see it from the ride vehicle

Imagineering’s video on Thursday covered every new piece of set dressing at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, from the queue to the finale. We’d already seen the spilled linguini and the finale’s charcuterie board during our first look in September. We hadn’t called out the rest, so we went looking for them on the ride.
Order Tickets and a Rat Trap in the Kitchen
Two details in the kitchen are worth a closer look. Order tickets marked Sweetbread Special now appear in the scene, a callback to an order ticket from the film. They’re a small detail, so keep an eye out for them as your ride vehicle scurries and spins through the kitchen.

The rat trap was already on the ride during our September ride-through video, but we didn’t call it out at the time. Imagineering built it from the actual model Pixar’s animators used, scaling it up, fabricating it and painting it. It’s the same trap that snaps Skinner’s hand a few scenes later, so the physical prop pays off once it shows up on screen.

A Bumper Bar Under the Dining Cart
The biggest fix of the three sits in the dining cart scene. Guests pass beneath the cart, with its wheels on either side and a curtain overhead. A large bumper bar now stretches along the bottom of the scene, covering the line where the screen meets the floor. Imagineering says the seam disappears once you’re seated in the vehicle.

It’s the kind of fix the 2D version needed. Without 3D glasses, the screens felt less immersive, as we noted in our review of the 2D conversion. The bumper bar also took over the scene’s audio, with speakers moved into the bar behind three angled, perforated panels.
Imagineering’s video also featured a new vent in the queue, which Imagineers modeled on the vents already in the load station, as we covered in our look at the video. We used the Single Rider line this morning, and the vent isn’t visible from that route, so we’ll grab photos of it on a future trip through the standby queue.
Here are some more photos from our visit this morning, including other massive projection screen spaces were physical props don’t make much sense, but are, nevertheless, needed.
