Markings have appeared on the main entrance archway for Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Markings on Tropical Americas Archway

Crews have added stucco and metal elements to the archway over the past few weeks. The markings act as guides for future paint and possible themed elements, indicating those might be coming soon.

The markings consist of wavy lines creating seemingly random shapes. Straight lines indicate a color or texture. Some sections appear to be labeled “S.”

The archway will be painted to look old and faded, as seen in concept art below. These drawings seem to correspond to the faded sections.

The archway will lead guests into the fictional village of Pueblo Esperanza. There, guests will be able to ride El Carrusel de los Animalitos and Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, as well as dine at a hacienda (formerly Restaurantosaurus) and enjoy a playground. In the jungle will be Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent (formerly DINOSAUR).
The land is scheduled to open in 2027.
