A burst of dry air in the mid levels of the atmosphere is helping to curb rain chances for Thursday and Friday. At the same time, Central Florida is sandwiched between a ridge of high pressure and a mid-level low, keeping breezy northeast winds over the area.

Rest of this week

Breezy and mostly dry conditions continue over Central Florida as we push into Thursday. This is thanks to a ridge of high pressure to our northwest and a developing mid-level low over the Bahamas. A stiff northeast breeze at around 10-20mph will keep high temperatures in the upper 80s Thursday and Friday afternoon. With the dry air in the mid-levels of the atmosphere sticking around, Rain chances will be limited to only a few spotty, speedy showers dotting our area. Thanks to this stiff northeast wind, rain chances will remain around 30% all day.

This Weekend

The mid-level low will cross over Florida and move into the western Gulf over the weekend. As it does so, it will drag deeper moisture from the Caribbean and bring it into Central Florida. This will raise rain chances to higher-than-normal levels for the weekend and into next week. Highs will remain in the upper 80s to low 90s. Humidity will also be noticeably higher.
