D23 is once again partnering with the city of Los Feliz, California, and Los Angeles County to host an open block party celebrating the second anniversary of Disney Bros. Cartoon Studio Square.
Disney Bros. Cartoon Studio Square Block Party
The event takes place on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Disney Bros. Cartoon Studio Square in Los Feliz, and is free and open to all. Here are the event details:
Once upon a time, there were two brothers from the Midwest with a dream to entertain the world with innovative cartoons. In 1923, Walt Disney and Roy O. Disney moved to Los Angeles to make that dream a reality—and founded the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio in the back of a tiny real estate office in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. Since then, The Walt Disney Company has expanded into a global success, but it all started with that first cartoon studio in Los Feliz.
Join the Los Feliz Neighborhood Council, Los Feliz Village Business Improvement District, and Los Angeles City Council District 4 in celebrating the 2nd anniversary of Disney Bros. Cartoon Studio Square! From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., the entire community is invited to enjoy a neighborhood block party full of activities, including:
- Photo opportunities
- Community tables
- Skating demonstrations
…and plenty more fun for the whole family to enjoy!

Disney Bros. Cartoon Studio Square
On September 15, 2024, the square in front of the original Los Feliz office space in which Walt and Roy Disney started Disney Bros. Cartoon Studio in 1923 was officially dedicated as Disney Bros. Cartoon Studio Square with a celebratory block party. That tradition has continued annually.
During their tenure at the little Los Feliz studio, Walt and Roy Disney produced such memorable Disney classics as The Skeleton Dance and Alice Comedies.
