Monday

Labor Day will be the wettest day of the holiday weekend as a trough of low pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere brings a cold front into Northern Florida. This will add moisture and instability to develop a plethora of storms throughout the day. As we wake up Monday morning, scattered showers will be over our norther counties, especially Flagler, Marion, and Northern Volusia. Rain chances continue to spill southward by lunchtime and linger across Central Florida through the afternoon.

Week Ahead

Rain chances remain high through the middle part of the week as this cold front lingers near Central Florida, also helping to spin up a mid-level low to keep us unsettled. Higher than normal rain chances continue through Wednesday. By the second half of the week, the cold front dissipates and a ridge of high pressure begins to build near Florida. This will help to wrangle our rain chances back down to more “normal” values by the end of the week and into the weekend.
