A 15-year-old girl was killed, and a 13-year-old was injured after an ATV overturned in Osteen, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The two teens were riding a 2021 Honda Pioneer 700 on Pell Road, just south of Ashby Way, around noon on Sunday, when the 15-year-old driver lost control, ran off the road, and overcorrected. The ATV overturned on its left side and ejected the teen driver. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the traffic report.

The 13-year-old passenger was taken to a Sanford hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said.

The identity of the 15-year-old who was killed has not been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
