A head-on crash on Interstate 75 in Sumter County left 3 people hurt, one critically, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened Sunday just south of State Road 91.

According to FHP, the 22-year-old Ocala man was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when he ran into a 57-year-old Texas woman driving a Land Rover.

Troopers said both drivers went to the hospital with serious injuries, and a male passenger in the Land Rover was hospitalized with critical injuries.

Troopers said it’s unclear where the 22-year-old started driving the wrong way.

The crash is under investigation.
