One person is dead in a shooting at an apartment complex in Maitland, police said.

Officers responded at 5 a.m. Monday at the Bell Trelago apartments, located off Maitland Boulevard, just east of Interstate 4, where they found a 27-year-old woman dead from an apparent gunshot wound in the parking lot.

Police determined the injury was self-inflicted and no other persons were involved, police said. Authorities said they do not believe there is any danger to the community at this time.
